Vad har HP för IT-säkerhetspolicy?

HP släppte för ett par dagar sedan nedan säkerhetsbulletin där deras datalagringslösning MSA P2000 G3 är bestyckad med en bakdörr i form av ett användarnamn och lösenord som inte är dokumenterat eller möjligt att ändra eller stänga av via deras webbgränssitt.

Att en sådan stor aktör har så dålig kontroll på sin mjukvara där man har en användare med följande inloggningsuppgifter  admin/!admin med större rättigheter än någon annan konfigurerbar användare är helt otroligt dåligt och det är svårt att inte undra vad för andra medvetna hål som finns i denna och övriga produkter.

Jag skulle verkligen vilja veta vad dem har för policy gällande bakdörrar, hemliga supportingångar eller huvudnycklar för deras statliga myndigheter.

RESOLUTION

The vulnerability can be resolved by the following procedure.

Apply the following steps to change the admin password using
CLI or the telnet log in the admin account with the following credentials:

# login: admin
# Password: !admin

Enter the following command:

#set password Password:
Re-enter password:
Success: Command completed successfully. (admin) – The password was changed.

Note: these steps should be followed when the administrator restores
factory settings with the restore defaults command.
The restore defaults command will restore the services admin account
with the default password. Follow the above steps to change
the admin password when the restore defaults command is used.
